Insurance Policy Database with Cert Images

Shipper Shield is aiming to be the most comprehensive insurance certificate monitoring service in the logistics industry. We are enhancing our database to support the full gambit of insurance policy types and upgrading our monitoring so that each client can monitor limits for each category of vendor they store in our system. For instance, if our client has common carriers, couriers and ocean freight vendors, they can create groups to apply uniform insurance limits to each vendor type.

Insurance Cert Images and PDFs

Shipper Shield has a sophisticated collection system for insurance certificates, allowing us to quickly process certs received by mail, fax, e-mail, direct submission to our web site, submission by clients and submission by carriers. As soon as a certificate is uploaded it becomes available for download.

As new certs come in, they also go into our data entry queue, which is manned around the clock by our global data entry team. As you know, having a PDF only gets you so far. Ours is an automated alert system, so all certificate data is databased and "certificate holder" certs are assigned to the appropriate client ID.

Anatomy of an Insurance Certificate

At first glance, once you get past the font size, an insurance certificate seems like a pretty straightforward document. However, when you know what you are looking for, the cert is the key to a lot more data. For instance, in the upper right you can see contact information for the insurance agent. This is key for us, because once we have one cert for a carrier/vendor, having this agent contact information makes it much easier to get subsequent certs as the policy renews. Below the agent info you can see the list of insurance providers for the carrier's policies. The NAIC number next to each company name is what allows us to look up A.M. Best Ratings for each insurance company. Since policy information varies, our expert data entry staff works to enter data into the database so our alert system can give you the information you need about where your vulnerabilities may be.
